This year, Bridge Publications also became a recipient of the President’s Circle Award, a status created in 2013 by the President of Manufacturing Leadership and conferred only on organizations that have earned the Manufacturing Leadership 100 Award for three consecutive years. As such, Bridge Publications is invited to serve as adviser to the President on the administration and conduct of future Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards.

Bridge Publications earned its 2013 Manufacturing Leadership 100 Award in the category of “Innovative Enterprise” for production of the L. Ron Hubbard Series—the 16-volume, biographical encyclopedia chronicling the life of author, humanitarian and Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard.

In February-March 2012, Bridge manufactured the L. Ron Hubbard Series in 17 languages: 505,128 editions of 272 individual titles in a single month.

Bridge overcame numerous print challenges in carrying out the project. For example, to achieve the highest possible quality black and white photographs, Bridge embarked on an extensive research project ultimately creating a special ink for use by the printing industry, an ink that now bears the name “LRH Gray” for L. Ron Hubbard.

“Bridge Publications is proud to have won the Manufacturing Leadership 100 Award for the 5th year in a row,” said Bridge Publications, Inc. vice president for manufacturing, Veronica Rodriguez. “I attribute this accomplishment to the application of L. Ron Hubbard’s organizational policies on administration. Our staff, from executive level to operators, have read and meticulously apply Mr. Hubbard’s organizational policies in our plant. Because of this, the quality of our products routinely surpasses industry standards.”

Previous Bridge Publications Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards (known as Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards until 2011) have been:

  • 2009: In the category of Business Model Mastery, Bridge carried out the full research, development, implementation and production of an in-house digital book production facility and expanded it with the addition of two continuous feed printers and a full CD production line.
  • 2010: In the category of Operational Excellence Mastery for plant and corporate relocation and expansion of facilities, with full implementation and automation of a CD replication and packaging line.
  • 2011: In the category of Operational Excellence Mastery, Bridge was acknowledged for implementation of CD lecture binder and leatherbound edition manufacturing assembly lines.
  • 2012: In the category of New Workforce Award, for developing an in-house training and apprenticeship program resulting in new staff becoming “among the most proficient in the world, setting records for production volume.”

Bridge Publications opened its new 274,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Los Angeles in 2009 to meet unprecedented demand for the books and lectures of L. Ron Hubbard.

Bridge Publications manufactures and distributes all Dianetics and Scientology books, lectures and course packs for the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa. Its sister organization, New Era Publications in Copenhagen, Denmark, serves Europe and the United Kingdom. Together they can print 1.3 million books and 1 million compact discs a week or 67 million books and 52 million CDs annually.
