FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Firefighter Ryan Rieben

When Ryan Rieben was growing up he knew what he wanted to be—a fireman. And that’s exactly what he has done. His profile is one of 200 “Meet a Scientologist” videos available on the Scientology website at www.scientology.org.

Nearly every boy wants to be a firemanbut only some have what it takes.

In his video on www.scientology.org, Rieben describes what it’s like to be a firefighter.

The 28-year-old Michigan native remembers to the exact moment the day he decided on his future career. He was just four years old.

“I was in the car with my mother. We pulled over as a fire truck raced by,” he says. “I made the decision right then, and I never wavered.”

There to serve and safeguard the community in times of emergency, despite the ever-present danger that is part of the job description, Rieben says when you are trained and follow the procedures, it is usually pretty safe.

“What I like best about being a firefighter is the people—the camaraderie,” says Rieben. “We’re all family—a very, very close-knit group, not just at the fire house but in our personal lives too. We are always there for each other.”

A Scientologist since 2008, Rieben became interested in the religion when he realized every Scientologist he knew was doing well in life. He wondered if Scientology had something to do with their success.

“I bought a Dianetics book. It made sense,” he says. “I went to the Church to check it out and I have been involved ever since. I found out that what I suspected was true—Scientology does help you accomplish your goals.”

“In Scientology I’ve learned certain technologies about how to deal with emergencies, chaos and confusion,” says Rieben. “Apply even a little bit of Scientology data and things get better.”

The popular “Meet a Scientologist” profiles on the Church of Scientology International Video Channel at Scientology.org now total 200 broadcast-quality documentary videos featuring Scientologists from diverse locations and walks of life.
