Lynn Posyton Raised Four Kids
and Lived to Tell the Tale
Meet Lynn Posyton—born in New Jersey, living in Clearwater, Florida, married for 22 years and proud mother of four. Her video profile is one of 200 “Meet a Scientologist” videos available on the Scientology website at www.Scientology.org .
In her “Meet a Scientologist” video at www.Scientology.org , Lynn Posyton tells the secret of how she raised four children and got each of them through their teenage years in style.
Posyton has three sons ages 21, 19, 17 and a 15-year-old daughter. And not one of them has gotten into trouble or onto drugs.
“But they didn’t just avoid the pitfalls,” says Posyton. “All four are athletes, honor students, active community volunteers, and my daughter is a classical ballerina.”
“Having four children, it’s a bit!” says Posyton. “People ask me ‘how do you do it?’ Scientology got me and my four children through their teenage years quite easily.”
“When you’re a mom you want your kids to do well,” she says. “You know it’s your duty to put them out into the world in good shape. No matter what else you’re doing, that’s your job. But this job doesn’t come with a manual. Scientology gave me the practical tools that made it easy to raise my kids.”
On the top of her list of what to teach them was communication skills.
“School time is not always fun time,” she says. “But if my kids ever had trouble I knew they weren’t introverted—they could speak up and let someone know what they needed and wanted. When you know they can do that, you can rest easy.”
Born and raised in New Jersey, Posyton, 47, married husband Russ, 61, in January 1989. Shortly after their wedding they moved to Clearwater, Florida, and before the year was out they had their first son.
One aspect that Posyton appreciates is the friendliness of the Scientology community.
“I was always looking for a group where I felt I could really be me,” she says. “There had been times in the past when people put me down. I rubbed some people the wrong way. The first time I walked into a Scientology church I felt I’d come home—it was so comfortable. It was safe to be myself. I was appreciated for who I am.”
Posyton knows that no matter what happens in life, with Scientology she has a tool she can use to handle it.
“Since studying Scientology, I’ve never been at a loss,” she says. “It’s like having a full tool belt. If something comes up—boom—you have a tool to handle it.”
