Responsibility Doesn’t Have to be a Burden

Danilo Bondo Fradelo changed his viewpoint on the subject of responsibility and suddenly life became a lot more fun. His profile is one of 200 “Meet a Scientologist” videos available on the Scientology website at www.scientology.org.

Danilo Bondo Fradelo found that moving from troubled and uncertain to winning in life took only one small step.

In his video on Scientology.org, the Turin-based 35-year-old clothing retailer explains how unhappy he used to make himself.

“I made lots of mistakes and was uncertain and confused in life. I blamed others, was angry, and didn’t have solutions for my problems.”

Introduced to Scientology by a friend in 1999, he made steady improvement in his attitude and disposition, but his love life was always a sore point and he never described himself as really happy. The turning point for him was a summer vacation that started out all wrong.

“It was August 2005. My girlfriend dumped me right before the summer holidays,” he says. “I blamed her for ending the relationship and was very bitter and upset—her bad timing was about to ruin my vacation.”

He could have spent the time with friends but decided to attend a weekend Scientology Congress instead, where attendees listen to a series of recorded lectures by L. Ron Hubbard and take part in practical drills to help them gain proficiency in the material presented. Looking back, he says it was one of the wisest choices he ever made.

“I attended The State of Man Congress,” he says. “In just two days I gained an entirely new approach to situations. I learned how much easier life is when you don’t view yourself as the victim of others’ actions. Blaming others never made anyone feel better and no matter how convincing it may sound, it is never really true. Suddenly I could see what I had done that ended up with my girlfriend leaving me. It was a hard lesson to learn, but it certainly was worth it.”

One of the shining results of this is his relationship with fiancée Federica Vercellino. They are proud parents of a beautiful 18-month-old girl and he says their relationship could not be stronger.

Fradelo sums up what he has gained from his religion in these terms:

“I am very optimistic about my tomorrow. Scientology has made me lucky!”
