Back arched, hands poised, neck and head held just so—even the most casual observer could hardly fail to see the truth about Maria Del Bagno. But when asked, she would always emphasize, “I used to be a dancer.”

In a video on www.scientology.org, Maria Del Bagno explains how Scientology helped her bring dancing back into the present tense.

Dancing since she was four, in a ballet company by age 12, over the years the losses and disappointments had come to dominate her attitude toward her art and Del Bagno exited stage left, leaving the dance floor forever.

She was working in Hollywood when her graceful demeanor blew her cover in an acting class. Her teacher didn’t ask—he proclaimed— “You’re a dancer!”

“He pointed out that dancing was clearly part of who I am,” says Del Bagno, “I realized that giving up was a bad substitute for solving the problems in the life I had loved.”

The acting teacher, a Scientologist, told her Scientology might help her as an artist and in life.

“What an understatement that was,” she says. “I received some Scientology spiritual counseling and I immediately started thinking more clearly and feeling more myself.”

Having addressed the spiritual and emotional factors that had overwhelmed her, Del Bagno resumed dancing and choreographing. Her confidence in her own ability was restored. In addition to her own dancing and choreography career, she now helps others in the TV and movie industry discover the joy of dancing.

“I believe artists are here to help each other and elevate one another so we can enjoy life more and see the beauty of life and living,” says Del Bagno. “I love to help people find their own uniqueness and their own expression.”

A Scientologist for the past 15 years, she describes her life as a journey of continuous ascension.

“The more I do in Scientology and apply it in my life, the better my career goes, the better my life goes and the happier I am,” she says.
