Scientologist Gilles Regnier enjoys the challenge of helping people overcome their problems, anxieties and fears. A general contractor and Dianetics counselor, his profile is one of 200 “Meet a Scientologist” videos available on the Scientology website at www.scientology.org.

The sparkle in Gilles Regnier’s eyes in his “Meet a Scientologist” video is a dead giveaway. A genuinely good-natured guy, he enjoys nothing more than meeting new people and giving them a hand in life.

A general contractor, Regnier, 55, has been a Scientologist for 37 years.

Growing up in a French-speaking farming community in Manitoba, Canada, Regnier holds with the simple values of his youth—especially the importance of helping others.

In 1974, Regnier took a personality test at the Church of Scientology of Winnipeg.

“The results showed I needed some rapid change,” he says.

Not in really bad shape, he still had his share of problems.

“I wanted to know what is going on—who I really am,” he says. “I knew there was a spiritual aspect to life that nobody was talking about—there was more to this game than what you could see with your eyes.”

Regnier began with a basic course in Scientology and some books by L. Ron Hubbard and was amazed at the change.

“I was happy and much more interested in life,” he says.

While becoming licensed as a general contractor and working in construction, for the past three decades Regnier has held staff positions at the Church of Scientology in Winnipeg and now in Vancouver where he is responsible for conducting Dianetics Seminars. And he uses Scientology in every aspect of his life.

“The things that used to bother me don’t anymore,” he says. “I don’t worry about problems—I know how to handle them and things go well for me, and if it weren’t for Scientology, I don’t know where I’d be.”
