A new brochure on The Way to Happiness was released by the Church of Scientology on International Happiness Day to help accomplish the goal of this new United Nations Day.

In honor of the first International Day of Happiness March 20, 2013, the Church of Scientology has released a new brochure, putting the means to accomplish the goal of the celebration into the hands of individuals, NGOs and government organizations in countries around the world. The brochure is Scientology: How We Help—The Way to Happiness, Creating a World of Honesty, Trust & Self-Respect.

On June 28, 2012, the United Nations General Assembly directed the International Day of Happiness to be celebrated throughout the world each year on March 20 in recognition that “happiness is a fundamental human goal.”

The opportunity to enjoy happiness is threatened, however, and too often thwarted by a moral and ethical crisis of epidemic proportions evidenced by rampant crime and drug abuse, corporate greed, political misconduct and international conflict—all the product of dishonesty and immorality.

The Way to Happiness: A Common Sense Guide to Better Living by author, humanitarian and Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard, addresses the cause of these problems. The Way to Happiness is a nonreligious moral code based on common sense that provides a path a person of any background, culture or creed may follow to attain a happier, more prosperous and more fulfilling life.

Immensely popular since its first publication in 1981 and available in 109 languages, more than 100 million copies of The Way to Happiness have been distributed in 205 countries and territories.

The brochure describes the use of The Way to Happiness in the home, in the workplace, on crime-ridden city streets, and in times of turmoil and war to deter conflict and violence and establish calm, tolerance and respect. It also covers tools available to educators, mentors, civic and community groups and parents to help them put The Way to Happiness to use: an award-winning feature-length The Way to Happiness book-on-film, public service announcements, an educator’s guide, and The Way to Happiness website and online educational iPad App.
