Church of Scientology Johannesburg Introduces Gauteng Provincial Police to Human Rights Education Program

In response to a request from the Guateng Provincial Police Social Crime Prevention Program, Shaleen Worhnitz, Director of Public Affairs of the Church of Scientology of Johannesburg, presented an overview of the human rights education initiative the Church sponsors.

Worhnitz’s presentation covered the various components of the Youth for Human Rights education program, which include a series of compelling public service announcements, each conveying the essence of one of the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It also features booklets designed to educate youth on the Declaration and The Story of Human Rights educational film that presents the history of human rights.

Through education on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, young people not only gain a better understanding of their own rights, but they also come to realize their responsibilities for protecting the rights of others.
