In commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, volunteers from the St. Petersburg Scientology religious group carried out a week of human rights awareness activities.

St. Petersburg Scientologists carried out a week of human rights activities to raise awareness of human rights and show support for those who are ostracized and discriminated against through racism and xenophobia.

They erected a large board on Malaya Moskovskaya Street in the center of St. Petersburg where people of all ages signed their names in support of the elimination of racial discrimination.

Over the course of the week, the volunteers carried out 20 street events and distributed more than 10,000 copies of human rights educational flyers and booklets.

Scientologists on five continents engage in collaborative efforts with government agencies and nongovernmental organizations to bring about broad-scale awareness and implementation of the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the world’s premier human rights document.
