For Dr. Darren Schmidt
Finding Scientology was a Relief

Chiropractor Darren Schmidt was certain about one thing—something had to change. His profile is one of 200 “Meet a Scientologist” videos available on the Scientology website at www.scientology.org.

Life was no fun for Darren Schmidt. And it was time for a change.

“Starting in college, I began looking for real answers to my everyday problems,” says Schmidt, a chiropractor and nutritionist based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. “After 10 years of going through all of this seeking and searching and various therapies, I was worse. And then I got into Scientology and that’s when I got the real live solutions.”

While receiving business consulting based on administrative technology developed by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard, Schmidt was amazed at the results in his practice. And that’s when he became curious.

“I decided to see if Mr. Hubbard had answers for other aspects of my life,” he says.

Schmidt took a communication course. The change was immediate.

“I used to be so stressed out I couldn’t relax,” he says. “For 15 years I was so tense my shoulders were constantly hunched up. On one of the training drills on this course I could feel myself relax, and my shoulders went down, down, down…what a relief. I could actually just be there with somebody and listen to them without wondering why they were talking to me.”

And his communication improved beyond what he had anticipated or even hoped.

“I was able to talk to my dad for two hours,” he says. “In my whole life we’d never spoken for more than 10 minutes.”

Continuing with Scientology training and spiritual counseling and applying the administrative technology he had learned, over the next four years Schmidt’s practice grew to 10 times its former size.

“Everything I’ve experienced and learned in Scientology has created improvement,” says Schmidt. “My IQ has increased and I’m happier, less nervous and far more tolerant of others than I ever was before.”

What’s more, the improvement has been stable and lasting.

“People search and find things that improve some area of their life or help them temporarily,” says Schmidt. “What good it is to have your business going great while you’re miserable personally? I’ve seen people get an uplift for 10 minutes, a few weeks, even several months, but after a while everything is the same as it was. That wasn’t enough for me. I was looking for expansion for myself personally. With Scientology I found what I was looking for.”
