Sydney Scientologists celebrated the Chinese New Year by distributing thousands of copies of Truth About Drugs booklets at the Chinese New Year Market in the heart of the city. Their New Year’s wish: for 2014 to be a year of health and happiness, free from the harmful effects of drugs.

Marking 150th anniversary of Dutch abolition with human rights education.
July 1 marked the 150th anniversary of the abolition of the Dutch slave trade. Each year, the day is celebrated in Amsterdam with a parade and a festival known as “Keti Koti,” which means “cut the shackles” in the native language of Surinam, the former Dutch Guiana.
MERIDA, VENEZUELA •
A fun-filled day of activities organized by the Scientology-supported Truth About Drugs initiative and the Vigia Anti-drug Foundation in Merida, Venezuela
Young athletes from local schools competed in an intramural soccer match in October in the state of Merida, Venezuela. The level of excitement of the players, their friends and families was a living demonstration that life is more fun when you don’t use drugs.
MEXICO •
Scientologists work with Mexican police to help youth live drug-free lives.
To ensure youth in Mexico are provided with the information they need to make informed decisions to live drug-free, the Social Reform Office of the National Scientology Organization of Mexico helped organize and conduct a training program July 8-12 for the Mexico City Police Unit for School Safety.
