Community leaders gather at new Scientology Church in Portland
The Church of Scientology of Portland hosted an International Friendship Day forum and open house this summer to forward the purpose set forth by the United Nations in proclaiming this day: “that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.” Community and religious leaders from diverse backgrounds met and shared their vision for a better world.

Promoting the message of the United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking—“Make health your new ‘high’ not drugs” —volunteers from Scientology Churches across Canada are helping hundreds of young people learn the truth about drugs this summer.
PLETTENBERG BAY, SOUTH AFRICA •
A team of volunteers from the Church of Scientology of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, are working with local officials to raise the quality of life in their community.
To make the West Cape town of Plettenberg Bay safer for all who live and work there, volunteers from the Church of Scientology of Port Elizabeth and Plettenberg Bay (Plett) South African Police Service (SAPS) officers joined forces February 16 to distribute copies of The Way to Happiness.
